A Tennessee man was
transported to Huntsville Hospital with serious injuries
after a two car collision on U.S. Hwy 231 Thursday
afternoon. A Union Grove man, from the other vehicle,
went to the Arab city jail after the wreck.

Gene Caudill, the driver of a 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara, was
transported to Huntsville Hospital by Arab Fire Rescue
ambulance. Caudill who is from
Clarksville, TN was suffering from a broken left arm and
possible multiple broken ribs. His vehicle was hit in
the left front quarter panel and driver side door. The
Suzuki was apparently headed North on Hwy when it was hit by
a 1998 Ford Mustang making a turn in a median crossover.
The two local men in the Mustang were not injured. The
Mustang was driven by John Balla. Balla gave a
Huntsville address.
Carson Chad Watwood, passenger in the Mustang
was taken into custody at the scene by Arab Police. Watwood was arrested on outstanding warrants and for
allegedly being in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both vehicles came to rest in the Hwy 231
median directly in front of the Jet Pep service station on
231 North. Units from the Arab Rescue Squad, Arab Fire
Rescue and Arab Police Department were called to the wreck.
The wreck, which occurred just North of the Arab city limits
is under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
