March 29, 2008
A two vehicle crash at the intersection of North Brindlee Mountain Parkway and Golf View Dr NE sent two victims to the hospital by ambulance.  Hollis Cooper and Hazel Cooper were transported to Marshall Medical Center North by Arab Fire Rescue service.  Paul Brown, driver of the other vehicle was not seriously injured.   Both Mr. and Mrs. Cooper were later transferred to Huntsville Hospital where Mrs. Cooper was reported to be in critical condition and Mr. Cooper was still undergoing testing.

EMS personnel prepare Mrs. Hazel Cooper for transport after wreck.

According to a witness at the scene, the Cooper vehicle, a Hyundai Accent, was traveling West on Golf View Dr NE and the Brown vehicle, a Dodge Caravan minivan was traveling South on the Parkway.  The Hyundai was crossing the intersection when it was struck by the Dodge minivan.  The Cooper vehicle caught fire after the impact.  The fire, which was caused by a ruptured transmission fluid line, was extinguished by Arab Fire personnel.

This Dodge Caravan, driven by Paul Brown, sustained considerable damage.

Units from the Arab Rescue Squad, Arab Fire Rescue and Arab Police Department were called to the wreck.  The accident is under investigation by the Arab Police Department.
