The Arab
City Council appointed Brian Clemons to a
five year term on the Arab City School Board
Monday night.
Clemons, age 43,
is Director of Business Development at
Sparta, Inc, a defense contractor located in
Huntsville. Clemons grew up in Arab
and is a 1982 graduate of Arab High School.
He moved away for a while but returned to
Arab four years ago. He has three
children in the school system.
Councilman Ronny
Shumate, who nominated Clemons for the
position, said that he is an "outstanding
candidate". Clemons was responsible
for a recent $191,500 grant to upgrade
computers at the schools. He replaces
Russell Bobo who did not want to be
reappointed.
