
Ruth Volunteer Firefighters keep fire
from spreading to an adjacent building during
Friday night fire which destroyed an abandoned building.

Ruth Volunteer Firefighters
were called to a suspicious fire which totally destroyed an
abandoned structure on Mount Oak Road Friday night.
According to firefighters the building had partially burned about
a year ago and the new blaze totally destroyed the remaining
portions. The building was totally engulfed in flames when
the Fire Department arrived and the firefighters concentrated on
controlling the spread to an adjacent building and woods.
Witnesses on the
scene reported seeing a vehicle in the driveway sometime before
the fire started. The neighbors were later awakened by the
fire. Arab Fire Department was also dispatched to
assist the Ruth firefighters.
