For the past month twenty-four Arab restaurants have been
competing for the title of "best" in thirteen categories
in the first annual Best Restaurant Contest. The contest
ended April 28th and the final results are in.
The winners of the 2008 Arab Area Best Restaurant Contest are:

Best Burger - Dairy Queen

Best Barbecue - Southern Hickory

Best Breakfast - L Rancho Cafe

Best Buffet - Sierra's Mexicanisimo

Best Coffee - Rooster's Coffee Barn

Best Dessert - Dairy Queen

Best Fries - Dairy Queen

Best Mexican - Sierra's Mexicanisimo

Best Pizza - Pizza Hut

Best Sandwich - Midas Burger

Best Seafood - Captain D's

Best Salad - Dairy Queen

Best Service - Three Guys' Grill
The winning restaurants will each receive a plaque to display in
their restaurant. Over a 1000 ballots were counted after their
eligibility was verified. The results were very close with just
one vote separating the winner in one of the categories. Another
category winner captured the honor by just eight votes.
The
contest was sponsored by the Arab Area Retail and Restaurant
Committee.
