A Friday
afternoon storm near Union Grove damaged a
home, barns a church and dropped enough hail
to cover the grass in many places. The
National Weather Service issued a tornado
warning for the super cell storm which had
earlier traveled across Winston and Cullman
Counties. The home damaged by the
storm belong to Mike and Debra Stone at 1701
Ball Park Road. The storm tore
approximately half of the roof from one side
of their home and broke windows. The
American Red Cross housed the Stone's at the
Arab Jameson Inn over the weekend while
clean up and temporary repairs were made.
Several
community residents had damage to barns and
sheds. Mountain View Baptist Church
had some roof damage and the church sign was
damaged. Several local residents
reported hail so thick that grass was
completely covered.
