It started as a two vehicle wreck at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 231 and Union Grove Road Monday night.  Within minutes a third car swerving to miss the first accident struck a fourth vehicle creating a four car pile-up at the intersection.  One of the vehicles caught fire after the accident.

One woman was trapped in one of the cars and required extrication to free her from the wreckage.  She was flown to Huntsville Hospital by Med Flight helicopter.  She was reported to be suffering from injuries to the legs and lower body.  At least one other woman was transported to Marshall Medical Center North.  She was treated and released.

Brindlee Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and Samaritan Ambulance Service responded to the wreck and provided fire suppression and Emergency Medical Care.  The accident is under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.  Marshall and Morgan County Sheriffs departments also assisted at the scene.
