Knights Fall
To Guntersville
In 2nd Overtime
Arab, Jan 10, 2009 –
Special
It took two overtimes but the Guntersville
Wildcats final overtook the Arab Knights on the strength of two
late free throws in a low scoring affair played at Arab Jr. High
Saturday evening. The night’s scoring totals were the lowest of
the season for each team, to some extent the result of solid
defensive play. In the end, the Wildcats prevailed 31 – 29.
The game’s leading scorer
was Arab’s Jared Myers who finished with 10 points. Myers was
credited with four steals and six rebounds. Lake Graham finished
with nine points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots for the
Knights before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.
Tucker Bridges and Darrel
Jackson each scored eight to lead Guntersville. Bridges also
pulled down eight rebounds while Jackson collected seven. Mathew
Bass was the game’s leading rebounder with 11, as the Wildcats
out-rebounded the Knights 43 – 31.
The Arabian Knights will
now regroup and prepare for an important Area 14 match-up with
Madison County Tuesday night at Madison County.
The Wildcats will be at
home Monday night against Albertville.
