Arab High seniors Jennifer Black and Melinda Scott have signed athletic scholarships to play tennis at Snead State Community College. Snead State tennis coach Steve Machen was on hand Tuesday, January 27 for the scholarship signing ceremony in the Arab High School Media Center.

Jennifer Black has played varsity tennis at Arab High School for the past 5 years. She is the daughter of Mike and Nancy Black of Arab. Jennifer compiled the following record during her career at AHS.

• 52 wins, 27 losses in singles

• 47 wins, 38 losses in doubles

• 2005 #4 singles Section Champion

• 2006 Finalist #1 singles Marshall County Tournament.

• 2007 #2 singles and doubles finalist Marshall Country Tournament.

• 2008 #2 Singles Section Champion

• 2008 #2 Doubles Section Champion

• 2008 Hampton Cove Summer Classic Champion

Melinda Scott has played varsity tennis at Arab High School for the past 4 years. She is the daughter of Marty and Janette Scott. Melinda's record is:

• 33 wins, 19 losses in singles and

• 37 wins, 16 losses in doubles.

• 2006 Champion #4 singles Marshall County Tournament.

• #2 doubles finalist Marshall County Tournament.

• #4 singles finalist Section Tournament.
