On Friday, April 24, Brindlee Mountain High School went 6-0 at
the Marshall County High School Scholar’s Bowl Tournament.
Brindlee Mountain has remained completely undefeated in the
county tournament for all five years of the school’s existence.
Brindlee Mountain had a close call in the first round, beating
DAR High School by a score of 160 - 155. In the final round,
Brindlee Mountain defeated Arab High School 240-115, thus
clinching the championship. Arab placed 2nd, with losses to
Brindlee Mountain and DAR.

Team captain Riley Denton made the All-County Team, as did
teammate Tiffany Rainwater. They were joined by teammates Kyle
Clark and Travis Morgan. Alternates were Kaleb Smart and Tricia
Knowles. All four starting members of the Brindlee Mountain team
are juniors and will therefore be returning next year.
On May 29th, the Brindlee Mountain Scholar’s Bowl team will
travel to Chicago to compete in the 2009 National Academic Quiz
Tournament’s High School National Championship. This is the 5th
consecutive year that Brindlee Mountain will compete for the
National Championship.
