An act of kindness and patriotism by Arab Cub Scout Den 6 members was recognized recently by the recipients of their hard work.  Members of the 391st Fighter Squadron and the U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Force sent certificates of appreciation and an American flag that was flown in Afghanistan to the Den members. The certificates and the flag was presented to the Arab City Council by Cub Scout Pack 60, Den 6 during a ceremony Tuesday night.  The award will be displayed in the Arab City Hall lobby.

Debora Knighten said the Pack 60 cub scouts collected supplies, CD's, toiletries, snacks, and a lot of other items.  The items were then packed into "Care" packages and sent to military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Knighten said the "Care" project is part of a program to to help the youngsters grow into men.

Arab Mayor Gary Beam accepted the shadow boxed items from the scouts and thanked them for their support of the troops.  He said the council was inspired by the scouts acts of kindness.  "I already have a place in mind to hang this."  Beam said.
