Deputy Sheriff Assaulted During Arrest

A Marshall County deputy was injured during the arrest of a Grant man just after 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Daniel Wooten, 39, 196 Wooten Road, Grant was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail charged with Domestic Violence 3rd, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, and Assault 2nd.
According to Marshall County Sheriff Scott Walls, deputies were responding to a domestic violence at 196 Wooten Road in Grant when the Wooten allegedly assaulted Deputy Will Goble.
Sheriff Walls said, “While deputies were conducting their investigation, Daniel Wooten grabbed Deputy Will Goble and attempted to push him down. There was a brief struggle between Deputy Goble and Wooten. During that altercation Deputy Goble received cuts to his hand and a torn shirt. Deputies were quickly able to subdue Wooten before he could further injure anyone else or himself,” said Sheriff Scott Walls.
