Damages Feemster Gap Home

August 13, 2009 - Dwight Hayes
An early morning fire did heavy damage to a Feemster Gap
Road home owned by Herbert and Barbara Smith on Sunday.
The Smith's were not at home when the fire started.
There were no injuries in the blaze.
Arab Fire & Rescue received the call to the fire around 8:30
a.m. The caller reported flames and heavy smoke.
The fire had broken through the roof by the time Arab Fire
Rescue and 4-C Volunteer Fire Departments arrived on the
scene.
Although firefighters were able to bring the fire under
control within a few minutes, damage was heavy to the living
room and kitchen area of the frame home. Two Engines
each, from the Arab and from 4-C departments responded to
the call, along with 12-15 firefighters. Both
departments were called back to the scene around 12:30 p.m.
after the fire rekindled.
