Knights Win Brewer "Big Blue Classic"

The Arabian Knights are two for two in tournament competition this season after scoring three straight wins in the Big Blue Classic at Brewer High School. Arab, who also won the Holly Pond Thanksgiving Tournament, is now 15-5 and will travel to Guntersville Tuesday before hosting Scottsboro Friday.

The Knights defeated Danville Saturday 74-48. The game was actually tied at 28 at the half after Arab scored only 6 points in the second quarter. Arab was led by Connor Bedsole with 12 points, Austin Bobo and Jake Mann each with 11 and Jonathan Knighton with 10.

The Knights beat Hartselle 52-38 despite hitting only 14 of 28 free throws. Mann had a big game on both ends of the floor and finished with 16 points while Lake Graham, who had 7 blocked shots, finished with 11 points and Blake Harbin had 10.

In the championship game , the Knights trailed Brewer in the 3rd quarter but came back to win 70-66 with a stellar performance from Jonathan Embry who had 25 points. Blake Harbin, who had a big steal in the closing moments to help seal the victory, had 19 points. Brewer's Jordan Bowling was red hot, particularly in the first half, and finished with 37 points. The Knights were charged with 3 technical fouls during the contest while Brewer had 1 technical and an intentional foul in what turned out to be a very physical game.
