Second Round Of Snow Blankets Area
Snow covered scenes were the norm Friday as a winter weather system dropped 2-3 inches of snow over most of the Arab area. This snow covered barn and fence on Friendship Road was just one of the many scenes tranformed by the snow. Arab Today photo by Dwight Hayes

Arab residents woke Monday morning to the second blanket of snow in less than a week. Temperatures drop precipitiously as a fast moving cold front moved through the area in the early morning hours. 1-2 inches of snow covered the ground and automobiles. While there was little snow on the roads, rain that preceded the snowfall quickly froze with the falling temps causing patchy ice and causing driving problems. Most of the elevated roads in and around Huntsville were closed by law enforcement. Bridges were also ciy.
The latest snow, followed a snow event on Friday which dropped 2-3 inches over the area. With little wind to affect the snow accumulation, the slow falling flakes laid down a soft blanket that formed some very picturesque scenes. By noon on Saturday most of the snow had melted under bright sunshine.
