Arab Police say they took a long time drug dealer off the streets during a raid on a Vivian Jarrett Circle residence Tuesday morning. Police made two arrests during the raid after finding 4 pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the mobile home.
Officers from the Arab Police SWAT team, ANVIL unit, and investigations department went to the residence at 86 Vivian Jarrett Circle after receiving a search warrant based on two drug buys by an undercover officer. Arrested in the raid were, Hosea "Mexican Joe" Uribe and Amy Bannister. Uribe, 51, has been charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and trafficking of cannabis. Bannister, 38, has been charged with trafficking of cannabis. Both are being held in the Marshall County jail. Bond was set at $70,000 for Uribe and $30,000 for Bannister.
According to Arab Police, Uribe, known on the street as "Mexico Joe", reportedly recently returned from Mexico with 5 pounds of marijuana. ANVIL officer Scotty Watson said that Uribe has long been on the radar screen of area law enforcement and that several agencies have been watching his activities as far back as 1998.
Police said they found meth paraphernalia in the residence along with a small amount of meth residue. Watson said the residue was not enough for meth charges.
