An Arab woman was transported to Huntsville Hospital Friday afternoon after a car-truck wreck at the intersection of AL Highway 69 and Mayberry Lane. According to emergency officials on the scene, Heather Mays, age 30 of Thompson Falls Road, Guntersville, was transported to Huntsville Hospital. Curtis Oden of Somerville was the driver to the Dodge pickup truck declined treatment at the scene. (Correction - an early report indicated that Mrs. Mays' husband Zach Mays was a passenger in the vehicle and was injured. According to Mr. Mays he was not a passenger but was called to the scene by Mrs. Mays.)
Mrs. Mays was traveling westbound on AL Highway 69 and Mr. Oden was headed North on to Mayberry Lane. Oden apparently pulled into the path of the Maze car and was struck in the passenger door causing the truck to overturn.
The accident is being investigated by the Alabama State Troopers. Emergency units from Arab Police, Arab Fie, Arab Rescue Squad , and Marshall Medical Center North responded to the scene.
