Photo special to Arab Today April 6, 2010 An Allied Waste garbage truck was heavily damaged by fire early Friday morning. Driver Greg Brown told authorities that the truck cab began filling with smoke while he was driving on City Park Drive near Sandvic Medical. Brown stopped the truck and called 911 and attempted to extinguish the flames with a portable fire extinguisher. Fire and police personnel were called to the scene around 9:45am and units were on scene for about an hour and a half while a tow truck came to move the disabled vehicle from the roadway.

An Allied Waste garbage truck was heavily damaged by fire early Friday morning. Driver Greg Brown told authorities that the truck cab began filling with smoke while he was driving on City Park Drive near Sandvic Medical.
