December 1, 2010
Note to thieves, don't drive by the crime scene slowly, then turn off your headlights and speed away while Marshall County deputies are investiagting your crime.
According to Marshall County Sheriff Scott Walls, that is exactly what happened as deputies were investigating a burglary at the former Willow Brook Golf Course located at 134 Par Road in Albertville.
While deputies were conducting their investigation, they noticed that copper wiring had been cut from the building and a utility pole. While deputies were at the scene, the suspects passed their location very slowly, traveled a short distance down the road and shut off the headlamps and sped away. Deputies gave chase and apprehended the two near the Marshall/DeKalb County line.
Two Albertville men were arrested and charged with Burglary Third. Jerry Chad Bearden, age 36, of 121 Meeks Drive and Dana Paul Bearden, age 48, of Poplar Springs Road, both of Albertville were arrested and transported to the Marshall County jail. They later posted a $2,500 bond each.
