Draws Full House

Despite a three year Long Branch Opry hiatus, the debut re-opening of the local bluegrass venue had a full house Friday night. Freshwater Creek, a local group of junior high school age musicians opened the show with a set of traditional bluegrass numbers that had the audience tapping to the beat of the music. The more hard driving progressive bluegrass style of Mountain Heart was also well received.

Shows for the newly re-opened venue are planned through at least June according to Steve Harper who is promoting the shows. Harper said the next show will be April 17th. Balsam Ridge will headline the show with special guests Tennessee Valley Express.
