Meth Lab Bust Lands 6 In Jail

Acting on a tip about a meth lab at a residence on US Hwy 431N near the Marshall-Madison County line resulted in the arrest of six people late Tuesday afternoon. Marshall County deputies and Marshall County Drug Enforcement agents found several people inside the home along with a meth lab, various controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia according to Marshall COunty Sheriff Scott Walls.

One of the suspects arrested during the raid managed to escape by kicking a patrol car door until the door was damaged allowing him to escape. Walls said that Dallas Copeland fled into a wooded area surrounding the residence. He was recaptured Wednesday after officers were tipped that he was at a residence in the area.

Arrested during the raid were:

Brandon Haygood, 21, Owens Cross Roads, AL. Haygood was charged with, Manufacturing II, Possession Marijuana , Possession of Drug Paraphernelia.

All of the below are being charged with Manufacturing II

Jason Williams, 25, Owens Cross Roads, AL

Ricky Lynn Vann, 54, New Hope, AL

Jeremy Ray Mayhall, 33, Grant, AL

Jessica Fernandez, 19, Grant, AL

All will remain in the Marshall County Jail pending bond being set by a Judge.

New Hope Police arrested Crystal Jernigan, 19, New Hope, AL on warrants from that agency.

Walls said, "This is part of our continuing effort to rid Marshall County of Methamphetamine. We are fortunate to receive help from the public in the form of anonymous tips. These tips contain valuable information and often lead to arrests, seizures, and the removal of illegal drugs from our streets."

Walls also thanked New Hope PD and Huntsville PD K-9 teams for assisting in the search for Copeland.
