Over 400 Coats Collected
For Tornado Victims

More than 400 coats were donated during the Arab Fire and Rescue Coat drive to benefit victims of the Aoril 27 tornadoes. Arab Today photo by Dwight Hayes

The Arab Fire and Rescue Department collected more than 400 coats during their coat drive on Saturday. The coats will be donated to victims of the April 27th tornadoes. Arab Fire Chief Ricky Phillips said there was a steady stream of people stopping by to drop off coats during the 5 hour event.

Donors were entered in a drawing to win special framed Alabama and Auburn prints donated by Jones Discout Pharmacy. Winners of the Auburn prints were Martha King and Art Stark. Alabama print winners were, Kermit McCollum and Judy Brasher. Roger Gaddis and Terry Spann won posters of the 2011 Alabama Schedule and Nick Saban.
