$5000 Donated To Sheriff For Long Term Tornado Recovery Efforts

June 15, 2011
Due to the recent devastation in Marshall County, Southern Health Partners have donated $5000.00 to Sheriff Scott Walls to go towards the long term recovery efforts in Marshall county.

Walls released this statement regarding the donation: "The tornadoes on April 27, 2011 resulted in wide spread devastation across Marshall County, as well as, surrounding counties. During this disaster, we have seen hundreds of volunteers to step up and help the storm victims in the affected communities, such as, neighbors helping neighbors clear storm debris, tarp damaged roof tops, local businesses setting up and donating food and the preparation of the food to be distributed to victims and volunteers, and so many others things that volunteers have done to ease the pain of those affected. I applaud the efforts of Southern Health Partners and the many other local businesses in our county for their continued support in recovery efforts. This donation will be transferred to the United Way of Marshall County for long-term recovery projects."

"The United Way of Marshall County will use this money to assist storm victims in getting their lives back together. There were many people who lost everything they have worked so hard for, and the United Way has been instrumental in helping the storm victims get back on their feet again. We have a long way to go, and I hope that this donation helps the United Way to continue their good work in helping the storm victims here in Marshall County."
