Countywide RAPP (Realtives as Parents Program) meeting to be held Tuesday, May 13, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at Albertville Community Learning Center. Refreshemnts will be served. RAPP is a support program for grandparents or other relatives who have become the primary caregiver for grandchildren or other young relatives. Union Grove BBQ Cook Off and Community Luau - June 20, 6:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Union Grove

Do you have the best 'cue in town? Prove it! FBUG is proud to start a BBQ Tradition. Individuals can compete for prizes and bragging rights for the best BBQ in the area. There will also be games for the kids and the community can come taste the BBQ of local cooks! You can also pre-register your kids for Vacation Bible School for the following week.

Arab Primary School will present its "Bugz" program on Tuesday, May 13, 2007 at 6 P.M. at Arab High School auditorium. Everyone is invited to attend.
 

The 2008 Miss Alabama National Teenager Pageant will take place May 9-11,2008 at Hoover High School, in Hoover, AL. We are searching for representatives in the following divisions: Preteen(9-12)Junior(13-15)Senior(16-18)Miss(19-25). Winners in each division will represent Alabama in the national America's National Teenager Pageant in Nashville, TN at the end of July 2008. Alzheimer's Caregiver's Support Group - Gilliam Springs Baptist Church, 1351 N. Brindlee Mountain Parkway. Third Thursday of each month from 6 - 7 p.m.  T
his is an on-going, open group which serves to support and encourage caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer's or related diseases, while providing information on available resources.  For additional information call 586-3147.
 

The Top of Alabama Regional Council is seeking seniors ages 55 and up to participate in the "Senior Employment Program".  Eligible seniors receive on-job training and gain job skills. 256-564-9106.

LifeSouth Donor Center, Highway 431, Albertville is now open 6 days a week in an effort to keep pace with the local need for blood.  Hours are Mon-Wed-Fri, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Tues & Thurs, 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; and Sat. 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Click here for weekly schedule of special blood drives.
 

Duplicate Bridge Club - 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. Thursdays at the RSVP office.  Free lessons to teach duplicate bridge are given each Thursday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  There is no cost to play.  For information call: Judith Gillespie at 571-0387.
 

Senior Center - 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, lunch catered by Morrison's served at 11:00 a.m.  Line Dancing is held 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Mondays and Fridays and gospel singings are 9:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.  An exercise to music video has also been added.  All senior citizens are welcome to attend.  Information: 586-6960
