Snead State Wind Band
Plans May Concert

The Snead State Community Wind Band will hold a Spring Concert on Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m.

The Community Wind Band is a concert band composed of Snead State students, adults within the Snead State area, and area high school students who have demonstrated excellence in All-State tryouts.

The group will perform selections such as “Bandology,” “Into the Storm,” “Liberty,” and “The Last Battle.”

The Community Wind Band concert will be held at the Bevill Center Concert Hall. The concert is free to the public.


Tickets Are Now On Sale For
Will Rogers Heritage Festival

The Will Rogers Heritage Festival committee announces that tickets will go on sale Monday, March 31 for the Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers concert scheduled for Saturday night, June 7th at the Bill Moore Field at Civitan Park.

Jeff Whitlow and The Old Barn Band will open the show, with a special appearance by Johnny Lonestar, a trick roper and gun twirler from Branson, Mo.

The show starts at 6:30, with the gates open at 5:00. VIP section tickets are $40 each, which includes a seat right up front and a pre-show barbecue starting at 5:30 in the VIP tent. Seat selection is on a first come, first served basis.

Reserved section tickets are $15 and are located behind the VIP section. Participants must bring their own lawn chairs for the show.

Tickets go on sale at 9:00 am on Monday, either in person at the Guntersville Chamber of Commerce or on-line and phone sales through TicketWeb, 1-866-468-7630 or Ticktweb.com. Seating is limited. Coolers, lounge chairs and umbrellas are not allowed in the concert area. Parking is free.

The Whole Backstage production of USO and the American Spirit, directed by Johnny Brewer, announces the following cast members: Tim Hayes, Teresa Hunter, Betty Kelley, Rich Resler of Guntersville; Miriam Richey of Albertville; Lori Boatfield, Katherine Brewer, Tim McRae, Karen Shirley, Telina Wilson of Boaz; Greg Leach and Krystal Parris of Douglas; Dr. David Chupp of Arab; Steve Scott of Crossville.

The USO Dancing Ensemble includes: Tracey Resler as Choreographer, Kristen Parsley and Samantha Parsley of Guntersville; Melissa Trebus, Katie Smith and Erik Cederholm of Albertville; Nikki Ellis and Matt Hendrix of Arab; Alicia Bagwell of Boaz. Serving as Assistants to the Director: Kelleybrooke Brown and John Everett Brewer with Stage Manager Ed Shirley.

“USO, and the American Spirit (a musical revue)” features song standards and patriotic music from the 1930’s and 40’s.
