How far will they go? Where will they end up?  Golden Living Arab residents released several dozens brightly colored balloons into a beautiful blue sky Monday morning as part of the National Nursing Home Week Celebration.  A brisk southerly breeze quickly took the balloons high into the air and eventually out of sight.  State Representative Jeff McLaughlin predicted the balloons were head for the beach.  Each balloon contained a note about the lift asking the finder to write a note telling where it was found.  Last year one of the balloons made it to Georgia.

When a pilot solos for the first time one tradition is to cut their tie.  Arab Mayor Frank Lee Cox and Rep. McLaughlin got into the spirit of the event by allowing a couple of the Golden Living residents to cut their ties.

May 11th kicked off National Nursing Home Week.  The theme this years is "Love is Ageless".  The week highlights the quality of care that the seniors and disabled receive in America's nursing home facilities.  It is also a time to focus on the residents, staff, families and volunteers and to let the community share in the positive experiences that happen in nursing facilities daily.
