Arthritis Foundation Exercise Classes
August 31, 2008
RSVP will be offering a class in partnership
with the Alabama Arthritis Foundation. Doris
Benson, arthritis exercise instructor, will
lead the class that will meet for 8 weeks,
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-11a.m., at RSVP
starting September 9. Cost $30 for the 16
sessions. This class will start a week later
than previously advertised.
The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program is
an exercise program designed specifically
for people with arthritis that uses gentle
activities to help increase joint
flexibility, range of motion and maintain
muscle strength.
All exercises can be modified to meet
participant needs and are done while
sitting, or standing. The exercises you
learn in the program, however, should not
replace therapeutic exercises prescribed for
you by a therapist.
Participants previously enrolled in the
program have experienced such benefits as
improved functional ability, decreased
depression and increased confidence in one’s
ability to exercise.
For more information, call RSVP, 571-7734.
Come by RSVP, behind Mike’s Merchandise in
Guntersville to pay and register for the
class
