Piecing Together The Patterns of Our Lives
October 4, 2010
As part of RSVP’s year long program of preserving our Appalachian heritage, Angela Otts will offer a “Women Telling Your Stories” class starting October 15th at 10:15am for five consecutive Thursdays.
“Every woman has a story to tell. Telling our stories can help us learn more about ourselves and grow in our ability to make the most of our lives. In our later years, we need to share our experiences, so that we are assured that our lives have mattered and that the knowledge and wisdom we have gained will not be lost to the world”, said Mrs. Otts, the class facilitator.
The themes of the five sessions are designed to tap memories and guide students to write about them. No critique will be made of writing, only encouragement to help record your story.
Session 1: You and the People Who Shaped You
Session 2: Memories
Session3: Love and Work
Session 4: Sad Times, Happy Times
Session 5: Your Lessons and Your Teachings
This program is sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
