Week Two

Reverse Prognostication For College Football

September 5, 2012
The first week of the college football season is in the proverbial books and there were definitely some surprises. With that said, it’s time to pick a new group of losers in college football because we don’t really care who wins, we predict the losers each and every week. Last week, we only missed three picks out of twenty. This week, we hope a whole new class of losers will make us the winner. For this weeks list of losers click here...

Arab Today is proud to team with Stanley's Stinkers to bring our sports fans a fun way to predict the losers of the top twenty college football games each week during the 2012 season. Stanley's Stinkers is a weekly "reverse prognostication" for the upcoming games of that week.

This fun way of predicting the winners and losers is penned by Stanley Reese. Stanley's first job was working as a part-time sports reporter for his hometown newspaper. Next he worked for most of the next decade in radio, doing news and sports play-by-play. The next few years were spent in TV news and sports. Today, Reese is an accountant who says that while it's "not quite as much fun as working in sports but it pays the bills".

In talking about his sports career Reese says, "I have had the pleasure to interview some of the legends in sports. I was there in 1996 when the torch came to Atlanta. I was there when the Braves went from worst to first and stayed there for a while. I was there for Jeff Gordon's first Cup race which also happened to be Richard Petty's last race. I have been to football fields that look more like pastures and pastures that look a lot like stadiums. I've been to baseball fields with no grass and baseball fields with too much grass. I've covered every sport imaginable including race-walking, rodeo, golf, wrestling, volleyball, gymnastics and even fishing."

Reese's real street cred comes from the down to earth experiences of his life. Reese said, "I played football. I have done play-by-play in basketball, baseball and football. I have done public address at stadiums and field houses. I have been a referee. I have been a high school football coach. I even did security at football games once upon a time. Yep, I even worked in the concession stands too."
