This fall the Wallace State Workforce Development Department is
offering a variety of short-term training and continuing
education courses designed for individuals interested in
developing new skills for the careers they want in today’s
workplace, and for companies seeking additional training for
their employees. These courses are open to everyone and require
no prerequisites or previous experience.
According to director Neal Morrison, the department’s staff is
dedicated to serving as a catalyst for workforce development in
the area and to working with business and industry to meet their
specific training needs.
The mission of the Workforce Development is to provide training
for a competitive, technically skilled workforce. While one of
its goals is to provide short term training and continuing
education courses each semester that are open to the public, the
other focus is to design and facilitate customized training for
business and industry.
“We have scheduled a variety of training courses for this
semester. If one of these scheduled courses does not meet your
company’s training needs or requirements, one of our staff will
be glad to work with you to develop one that does,” Morrison
said. “Wallace State is prepared to conduct training at the
times and locations convenient for our business and industry
partners. We have been serving business and industry throughout
the state for more than forty years.”
Classes that are specially designed for companies are monitored
by Wallace State staff in conjunction with a company
representative to ensure that employees reach specified training
outcomes.
